Timely salary payment

Under the Payment of Wages Act, wages must be paid by the 7th (for under 1000 workers) or 10th of the following month. Delayed payment can be reported to the Labour Commissioner.

Minimum notice period

Under the Industrial Disputes Act, employers with 100+ workers need government permission for layoffs. Otherwise, workers are entitled to at least 1 month's notice or pay in lieu.

Gratuity after 5 years

If you've worked 5+ years continuously, you're entitled to gratuity of 15 days' wages per year of service under the Payment of Gratuity Act.
