As of April 2025, the National Living Wage is £12.21/hour for workers aged 21+. Employers who pay less are breaking the law.
After 2 years of continuous employment, you can claim unfair dismissal if you were sacked without a fair reason or proper process.
If you've worked 2+ years and are made redundant: 0.5 week’s pay per year under 22, 1 week per year aged 22–40, 1.5 weeks per year aged 41+. Capped at £700/week (2025).
Minimum 1 week per year of service, up to 12 weeks maximum. Your contract may give you more.
5.6 weeks (28 days for full-time workers) paid holiday per year, including bank holidays if your employer chooses.
You cannot be treated unfairly because of age, disability, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or marriage status.
